------>HOLY<------

[Introduction]
Gruul the Dragonkiller is at twenty percent. The healers are drained. Priests call out "Innervate" like Doom Lord Kazaak calls out death to all life. Druids scramble to pop out of moonkin and cat form. They pop potions, burn trinkets and cooldowns, anything they can do to get that Greater Heal off. Gruul takes a nice swipe at the offtank. The priests yelp.

And still, someone's healing the main tank. Someone's still has mana to spare when nobody else does.

You're that person.

Welcome to the life of the holy paladin.

For a PvE holy pally, there are 3 main ways to go:

First:51/0/20
This spec gets you a ton of extra crit from talents, and do NOT underestimate pursuit of justice. Just like run speed is important for DPS/Tanks, it is also important for us.

Second:51/5/15(this is my spec atm)
This spec gives you most of the crit in the first spec, but also gives you kings. There should be 1 kings pally in every raid, so make sure you have this if no one else does.

Third:51/20/0
The shorter cd on BoP, and the potentially awesome effect of Divine Guardian can be really nice. Also we go for this spec to get improved Devo aura, for a raid wide 6% healing increase. Like before, every raid should have an improved devo aura, but prot pallies will have this, so only if your guild does not run one should you consider this spec.

------>PROTECTION<------

After 3.0.8. the best prot build is:
0/59/12

So far looking at the internet i find this incredible guide for protections paladins:
Protection paladin guide

------>RETRIBUTION<------

When raiding at level 80, there is only one true build:
0/10/61
This build maximizes dps, gives you moving enhancement and includes BoK. Let me explain some of the ones I skipped:
* Vindication - Raid bosses are immune to it and trash are easy enough to go without this one.
* Deflection and Eye for an Eye - If you're getting hit in raid then you're failing. These are good for pvp, the former also for tanking.
* Divine Purpose - While there are bosses that will indeed hit you with spells, 4% isn't gonna make or break an encounter with an aoe-bolting boss. The second effect the talent gives is purely for pvp.
* Stoicism and Guardian's Favor - I've seen some raiders use these, reasoning that "You never know". The fact of the matter is that these are also for pvp and do very little for raiding.

The Holy tree has nothing worth going for. The aura you'll be using is obviously retribution aura, for haste, damage and threat generation for the tank. Seal of Blood/the Martyr is prefered, with Seal of Command being useful in some situations. Judgements are up to the raid to decide, but having both light and wisdom on the boss at all times is optimal. This spec also makes you a mana battery!

Paladin DPS Rotation:
* 1. Retribution Aura on, obviously
* 2. Seal of the Martyr/Seal of Command(Martyr for PVE and Command for PVP)
* 3. Judgement of Light/Judgement of Wisdom or Judgement of Justice (Light/Wisdom really depends on your raid group, as groups high in ranged dps do not benefit much from judgement of light, and benefit greatly from wisdom. Also discuss with any other retribution paladins in the raid if there are any who will judge what.)
* 4. Exorcism if available
* 5. Crusader Strike
* 6. Divine Storm
* 7. Continue as cooldowns come up--With 2/2 Improved Judgement it always seems to work out that they come back up with near-perfect timing.
Let it be noted that the above rotation is meant for single-target DPS fights only(especially bosses). If you are not having mana issues while DPSing, Consecration is an easy way to add quite a large chunk of DPS even versus single targets (currently with ~3k attack power, it adds approximately 240 DPS)
Weapon Selection:
For Seal of Command Paladins:
A slow 2-handed weapon is usually a Paladin's primary weapon. This will increase the chance for Seal of Command to proc on each swing and cause the procs to deal more damage.
For Seal of the Martyr/Seal of Blood Paladins:
Almost identical to Seal of Command Paladins. Faster weapons are acceptable, however, if they have somewhat better buffs than your current weapon.
Melee Stats:
* Your melee hit rating base should be 142 ideally, however with the removal of precision this is hardly practical. Keeping the old 95 Hit Rating is sufficient to maintain DPS, however, Hit Rating gear should remain a very high priority. For equal leveled players in PvP only 79 total hit rating (5%) is required to be hit capped.
* Attack Power (typically from Strength) is your primary DPS stat.
* Your melee critical strike chance needs to be at least 25% to maintain Vengeance stacks nearly all the time. After that point critical strike rating is not as much of an increase to personal DPS as straight Attack Power.

"Glyphs"
PvE Raid
Recommended Major Glyphs:
Glyph of Consecration
Glyph of Crusader Strike
Glyph of Judgement
Other Useful Glyphs:
Glyph of Seal of Blood
Glyph of Seal of Command
